How PolyTrack works

Every track is about replaying the same section and doing it better each time.

You drive a section, spot where you lost speed and restart instantly. Now you try again with one change to see if it improves your time.

Braking slightly earlier, turning tighter or landing straighter can cut 0.20 seconds from your time. Runs are short, so most of your time is spent retrying and fixing mistakes rather than racing.

Leaderboards and ghost runs show where faster players gained time, giving you a target to beat. Progress comes from repeating sections until it starts to feel easier and more consistent.

Simple controls keep your attention on steering accuracy and timing.

Desktop:

• Drive: WASD or arrow keys
• Restart run: T
• Restart from checkpoint: R

Challenging other players

You compete by comparing runs rather than racing side by side.

Ghost replays and leaderboard times show how faster players take corners, which helps you understand where they gain speed and where you are losing it.

PolyTrack maps

PolyTrack includes 13 official tracks and 30+ community creations across Summer, Winter and Desert themes.

Each map needs you to drive a little differently:

• Some demand smooth steering through long corners.
• Others punish entering too fast and force precise braking.
• Some tracks have tricky jumps that punish bad landings.

As you replay a map, you stop guessing and start driving with confidence, letting you trim small amounts of time each run.

Build your own tracks

The track editor lets you design your own tracks.

• Choose parts from the build menu.
• Place and rotate them to shape the route.
• Add checkpoints and a finish so runs can be timed.

You can test your track at any time and adjust sections to make them easier or harder, depending on what you want to create.

When you're happy with your creation, you can export it and share it with your friends to see if they can beat your best time.

Playing other custom tracks

Custom community-made tracks give you new challenges outside of the official maps.

Simply import the code for the track into your game and it will appear in the Custom Tracks tab.

You can find custom tracks online by checking out Reddit and other forums. There are endless custom tracks to try, from complex city layouts to simple high-speed runs.

How to improve your time

Fast times don't come from driving harder. They come from removing tiny mistakes that slow you down.

• Brake earlier before corners: Late braking makes the car slide wide and costs speed.
• Land jumps pointing straight: Landing at an angle forces you to correct and wastes time.
• Keep a tight line through turns: The less distance you travel, the faster your run.
• Approach platforms head-on: Coming in sideways can catch your wheels and stop momentum.
• Stay low on wall rides: A lower line helps you exit faster and stay in control.
• Restart quickly after mistakes: Repeating tricky sections is the fastest way to improve.
